What is a CHN?

CHN stands for Clearing House Number. It is an identifier associated with an investor's securities account.

Do I need a CHN to open a Stocks Trading account?

No. If you already have a CHN, you can provide it during onboarding. If you don't have one, select "No, I don't have a CHN" and continue.

I already have a CHN. What should I do?

Select "Yes, I do," enter your CHN, and select "Save details and proceed."

I don't have a CHN. Can I continue?

Yes. Select "No, I don't have a CHN" and select "Save details and proceed." You do not need to enter a CHN.

Why are you asking for my CHN?

If you already have a CHN, our stockbroker partner requires it as part of the process for setting up your Stocks Trading account.

Providing it allows them to link the appropriate securities information to your account where applicable.

Where can I find my CHN?

If you already have one, your CHN may be available in your existing investment or securities account records.

If you cannot locate it, contact your existing stock provider, dial *7270# using the phone number linked to your BVN to retrieve it, or reach out to the Support Team for assistance.
