Everything you need to know about eSIMs:

Q: What is an eSIM and why should I use it?
A: An eSIM is a digital SIM card that allows you to connect to a mobile network without needing a physical SIM card.
It's perfect for international travel, as you can easily activate a local plan on your phone without having to swap out your physical SIM.

Q: Is my phone compatible with an eSIM?
A: Most newer smartphones (e.g., iPhone XS or later, Google Pixel 3 or later) support eSIM technology.
You should check your phone's specifications to confirm. You can also
check this link for a list of eligible eSIM devices.

Q: Which Countries are available for eSIMs?
A: We offer eSIM plans for specific countries along with a number of data plans. The available options will be displayed in the app.

We currently support eSIM purchases for:
Nigeria, Kenya, Benin, Morocco, Qatar, Senegal, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States. If you ever visit these countries and you need an eSIM, you can simply purchase from Sycamore.

Q: How do I install an eSIM after I buy it?
A: After a successful purchase, you will receive a QR code or an activation code in the app. You can either scan the QR code with your phone's camera or manually enter the activation code in your phone's settings to install the eSIM.

Q: Can I keep my current phone number?

Yes, you can retain your existing mobile number when switching to an eSIM, ensuring continuity with your contacts.

Q: Are there any hidden costs?

There are no additional or hidden costs after purchasing an eSIM; the only limitations are those set by the specific plan you select.

Q: What if I get a new phone?

A Sochitel eSIM's QR code is only valid for one device.

If you switch to a new device, you will need to purchase a new eSIM and go through the activation process again.

Q: Is it possible to use my Sochitel eSIM when travelling abroad?

A:  eSIMs are ideal for international travel, allowing you to subscribe to international plans or switch to local providers easily, and at more competitive rates than traditional roaming services.

Q: How secure is an eSIM?

A: eSIMs offer enhanced security with reduced risks of physical theft or loss and encrypted data storage, protecting against cloning and unauthorized access.

Q: Can I recharge the eSIM purchased on Sycamore?

A: eSIMs operate on a package basis and cannot be recharged like traditional SIMs.
Once you have used your current data package, you will need to purchase a new one. However, our partners are developing a top-up feature scheduled for release later this year.

Q: Can I have multiple eSIMs on my device?

A: Yes, most devices that support eSIM technology allow you to store multiple eSIM profiles, which means you can switch between different carriers or data plans according to your needs without removing a physical SIM card.

Q . Is a phone number provided with an eSIM?

A: Our data-only eSIM is a digital SIM enabling devices to access data and remain globally connected without a physical card. With this eSIM,we have partnered with Sochite to ensure your devices can automatically switch to local networks, ensuring seamless international connectivity.

Q: Can I delete eSIMs on my phone?

A: Yes, you can delete eSIMs from your phone settings, but you should only do so if you have fully used your data package or its validity has expired. It’s important to note that once an eSIM is deleted, it cannot be restored, and you will need to purchase a new one.

Q: Can I load my eSim before I travel?

A: We recommend purchasing and activating your Sochitel eSIM before you leave for your destination. By doing this, your eSIM will be operational upon arrival, ensuring you avoid any inconvenience.
